Overview
Mirrors must be accessible and verifiable. Faster delivery must preserve the project's signatures, checksums and release relationships.
This is an architectural planning example, not a customer case study, a delivered project or a promise of performance gains.
Verify upstream provenance and rights
Synchronize from recognized upstream sources and retain licenses and release notes. Integrity relies on trusted checksums or signatures; a completed download does not establish trust.
Keep indexes and files aligned
Synchronize and validate packages before publishing indexes. Keep temporary files out of public directories and retain files referenced by older indexes according to an explicit policy.
Separate index and large-file policies
Versioned images suit stable paths while repository indexes need timely updates. Test range requests, resumed transfers and integrity following invalidation.
Make failures verifiable
Provide upstream and version context with a reporting route. Record missing paths and integrity failures rather than asking users to disable verification to hide synchronization or delivery problems.
